Some words come so
easily
Some feelings wear me
down
The truth can be so
hard to speak
Whenever you’re
around
I wear my heart here
on my sleeve
But something’s
locked inside
Behind the smile here
on my face
A secret I must hide
They say the truth
will set you free
But my prison is my
mind
Locked up with these
memories
The truth is hard to
find
Afraid to feel that
pain again
While love just slips
away
Standing cold and
speechless
With so much left to
say
So, we build up these
defenses
Resigned to live
alone
A heart designed to feel
so much
Can slowly turn to
stone
The tongue won’t
speak the feelings
The mind controls the
heart
When words could
break down all the walls
Keeping us apart
