She never fit the
mold they made
She never knew her
place
She knew that she was
so much more
Than just a pretty
face
She chose to live her
life out loud
While others just
existed
Others might have
given in
But not her, she
persisted
Inside she had a
heart of gold
That didn’t make her
weak
The harsh world all
around her
Made her angry, made
her speak
She couldn’t be a
timid soul
Although the world
insisted
She could have simply
bit her tongue
But not her, she
persisted
She could have sat
there in the back
And never said a word
Kept her thoughts
inside her head
Where no one ever
heard
And yielded to the
status quo
The one no one
resisted
And given up, without
a fight
But not her, she
persisted
