Love Realized

I’m not sure just how it happened

Or exactly when I fell

A sweet, unfolding story

 That only love could tell

So much more than I could dream of

What could she see in me

 How could I want another

Her kindness set me free

From all the scars that marked me

And left me cold and bare

She chased away the darkness

And made this man aware

Of all the goodness in this world

And all that I had lost

The things that I let slip away

Not thinking of the cost

But still she saw a light in me

And reached into my soul

She healed me with her loving touch

And made my spirit whole

So, I will spend the time that’s left

And never will forget

To always cherish what we found

And love without regret
